You can host your own domain name easily.  Dead simple content creator with drop and drag features.  You can easily edit the html/css if you need to, but you don't need that knowledge to build the page.  You can have as much or as little as you like on it.  You can also have multiple pages and a blog so if you have kids they can each have their own page to keep in touch with friends.
